To ensure the lasting beauty and health of your nail treatment, please adhere to the following aftercare guidelines.
Initial Care
For the first 48 hours after getting your nails done, avoid heat, swimming, saunas, and steam rooms.
Protection
- Avoid utilising your nails for tasks like opening packages, peeling off stickers, or scraping objects, as this can lead to chipping, breaking, or weakening of the nail treatment.
- Gloves are your best friends! Whether you're gardening, cleaning, or handling chemicals, they'll shield your nails from harm.
- Avoid using nail polish remover containing acetone.
Maintenance
- Regular salon visits will help maintain the beauty and health of your nails.
- Applying cuticle oil daily not only moisturizes and protects but also promotes healthier nails, enhancing their flexibility and extending the life of nail treatments.
- For removal, we strongly suggest returning to our salon to ensure it's done safely and professionally.
Activities to Limit
- Too much time in water can weaken your nails. Be careful with long showers, washing dishes, or swimming often.
- Heavy hand use, especially manual labor, can accelerate wear and tear.
General Precautions
- Keep your nails away from direct heat sources, as this can soften and weaken the gel.
- Be mindful of your habits. Nail-biting or picking not only damages the nail surface but also invites infections.
Nail Discoloration Prevention
- Product-Related Discoloration:
- Products such as tinted lotions, suntan creams, fake tans, certain hair products, and some foods have the potential to stain or discolor nail coatings.
- When handling these, it's recommended to wear gloves to reduce the risk of staining.
- Dye-Based Products:
- Some products, notably certain shampoos and tinted lotions, contain dyes that might stain the nails. Exercise caution when using these products to keep nails looking pristine.
- Sun Exposure & Lifestyle Factors:
- Direct sun exposure can cause your nail colour to fade over time.
- Smoking is another risk factor; the nicotine in tobacco can lead to a yellowing effect on the nails.
