You want clean, defined eyebrows and you want them done quickly. You don't have twenty minutes to spare. You want to walk in, sit down, have the strays removed, and walk out with sharp brows in under ten minutes. No fuss. No drawn-out process. Just fast, effective shaping that gives you clean edges and a defined shape you can maintain between visits.
Eyebrow waxing does exactly that. Warm professional wax is applied to the areas around your brow where hair needs removing, a strip is pressed on, and the hair comes out from the root in one clean motion. The whole process takes minutes. The result lasts 3 to 4 weeks. And because professional wax grips the hair rather than the skin, there's less redness and irritation than the wax strips you've been fighting with at home.
At Aesthete Beauty in Dundee, eyebrow waxing is carried out by Radina Ignatova, with over 11 years of experience in brow shaping. She uses Hive professional wax formulated for the delicate skin around the eyes. Eyebrow Waxing from £18. Book online any time or call us on 01382 217888.
Have been twice already in one week. Excellent service and advice. Nails, brows and lashes. Definitely be back.
Hive professional wax grips hair, not skin. Professional formulations are designed to adhere to the hair shaft while minimising grip on the skin. This means the hair comes out cleanly but your skin isn't pulled, torn, or stripped along with it. Cheap wax strips grip everything, which is why they cause more redness and sometimes remove skin or brow hair you wanted to keep.
Temperature control. Radina heats the wax to the correct temperature for the delicate skin around your eyes. Too hot and it burns. Too cool and it doesn't grip the hair. At-home kits give you no reliable way to control this.
Precision application. Radina applies wax only where it needs to go. She controls exactly which hairs are covered and which are left. Wax strips cover a fixed area regardless of your brow shape, which is why they often take off more than intended.
Clean edges. Professional waxing gives particularly clean, defined edges around the brow line that threading and tweezing can't match as quickly. The strip removes a clean line of hair in one motion.
The spatula is dipped once into the wax pot and used. Never double-dipped. Strips are single-use. Any tweezers used for stray hairs afterwards are cleaned with Vodex antibacterial solution and sterilised between clients. Gloves throughout. Area wiped down between every client.
The wax Radina uses is The Hive, a professional hard wax. Hard wax works differently from the soft strip wax you'll find in most high street salons and home kits. It shrink-wraps around each hair as it cools, gripping the hair shaft rather than bonding to your skin. That's why it pulls cleanly without dragging or stripping the surface layer. Soft wax sticks to skin and hair equally, which is fine on legs but rough on delicate brow skin. Those Veet strips from Boots? Same principle, worse execution. They're a flat sheet of soft wax with no flexibility, no precision, and no way to follow the natural curve of your brow bone. Radina applies The Hive in small, controlled sections so she can work hair by hair around your arch. The result is clean removal with far less redness. Most clients are back to normal within twenty minutes.
Radina is really lovely and welcoming, and so skilled in many different services. I have had lash lift and eyebrows, and gel nail infills for a few months, and have been so pleased with results every single time. Highly recommend.
Eyebrow waxing at £18 is a tidy-up service. It maintains an existing brow shape by removing the overgrowth around the edges. If your brows already have a good shape and you just need them cleaned up, waxing is the right service.
If your brows need a completely new shape, an Eyebrow Reshaping (£22) is the better option. Reshaping involves Radina mapping the ideal shape for your face before removing any hair. She considers your bone structure, eye position, and face symmetry to design a brow shape that's specific to you.
After a reshape, regular waxing tidy-ups maintain the new shape between visits.

If you've never had your brows professionally waxed, book the Eyebrow Reshaping at £22 for your first visit. A tidy assumes there's already a defined shape to maintain. Without that foundation, a tidy just cleans up stray hairs around whatever shape happened to grow in. Radina will map your brow shape before touching any wax, working from your bone structure, your eye spacing, and where your natural arch sits. She'll talk you through it. No surprises. Once you've got a shape you're happy with, you can switch to the quicker Eyebrow Waxing Tidy at £18 for your regular appointments going forward.
Both methods remove hair from the root and give results lasting 3 to 4 weeks. Both cost £18. The choice depends on your skin and preference.
Waxing is slightly faster because it removes multiple hairs at once in strips. It gives particularly clean edges around the brow. Works well for most skin types.
Threading uses no product on your skin. Just cotton thread. Better for sensitive skin that reacts to wax. More precise for targeting individual hairs.
Aesthete Beauty offers both. Radina can recommend based on your skin type. If your skin handles wax well, waxing is efficient and gives excellent results. If your skin is sensitive around the eyes, threading may be the safer choice.

Planning around a wedding, graduation, or big night out? Book your brow wax three to five days before the event. Not the day before. Any minor redness or sensitivity will have settled completely by then, and you'll still be well within the window where your shape looks freshest. If it's your wedding day, Radina recommends a trial reshape four to six weeks ahead so you can see the shape, live with it, and then do a final tidy the week of.
Eyebrow waxing is the right choice if any of these sound familiar:
If you have darker skin, waxing can sometimes trigger post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. That's the brownish discolouration that shows up where skin has been irritated. Hard wax reduces this risk because it doesn't pull at the skin surface, but it's still worth mentioning to Radina at your appointment so she can adjust her technique and aftercare advice. Beyond retinol, there are other medications that thin the skin or increase sensitivity. Accutane is the big one. If you're on isotretinoin or have been within the last six months, waxing isn't safe for you yet. Certain oral antibiotics, particularly tetracyclines and doxycycline, also make skin more fragile. Let Radina know what you're taking when you book.
If you're using retinol, tretinoin, or any prescription skin treatment on your face, mention it when you book or tell Radina before she starts. Waxing on thinned skin can cause tearing or grazing that takes days to settle. Radina will likely recommend threading instead, which doesn't grip the skin at all. If you've recently stopped using retinol, give it at least five days before booking a wax.
If your skin is sensitive and reacts to wax, eyebrow threading (also £18) is the alternative. If your brows need a new shape, book an Eyebrow Reshaping (£22) instead.
Friendly, comfortable, and relaxing. Beautiful results and definitely going back.
Eyebrow Waxing £18.

The treatment takes around 10 minutes.
First-time clients receive a short digital consultation form by email before their appointment. It covers skin sensitivities, allergies, medications, and anything Radina should know about your skin before applying wax. No patch test is needed for waxing.
Radina looks at your brow shape and identifies the areas that need tidying. If you have a preference for how much to take off or a specific shape to maintain, tell her before she starts.
Warm Hive professional wax is applied to the areas around your brow where hair needs removing. The wax follows the direction of hair growth. Radina applies it precisely, covering only the hair that needs to go and protecting the brow shape you want to keep.
A fabric strip is pressed over the wax and removed quickly against the direction of hair growth. The hair comes out from the root in one clean motion. Radina works in small sections around the brow for precise control.
Any remaining stray hairs are removed individually with tweezers. Radina checks symmetry from multiple angles and makes sure both brows match. A soothing product is applied to calm the skin and reduce any redness.
Some redness around the waxed area is normal and usually fades within an hour or two. Avoid direct sun, sunbeds, and very hot water for 24 hours. Don't apply makeup to the waxed skin for a few hours because the follicles are still open. If your skin feels warm or tight, a cool damp cloth helps.
The result is clean, defined brows with sharp edges. Most clients have minimal redness that fades within an hour or two.
£18 for a tidy-up. Eyebrow Reshaping is £22 if you need a new shape. All pricing is in the online booking system.
There's a brief pulling sensation when the strip is removed but it's over in a second. Professional wax grips hair rather than skin, so it's less uncomfortable than at-home wax strips. Most clients describe it as momentarily uncomfortable, not painful.
3 to 4 weeks before regrowth starts. Hair is removed from the root, so it takes a full growth cycle to come back.
About 10 minutes for a tidy-up.
Waxing is slightly faster and gives very clean edges. Threading is more precise and better for sensitive skin. Both cost £18 and last the same time. Radina offers both and can advise.
No. This is a myth. Regular waxing weakens the hair follicle over time, causing hair to grow back finer. The stubbly regrowth people associate with thicker hair comes from shaving, not waxing.
A tidy (£18) cleans up an existing shape. A reshape (£22) creates a new shape designed for your face. Book waxing for maintenance, reshaping when your brows need a new look.
Yes. Book Deluxe Eyebrows (£35) for shaping plus colour in one appointment.
Tell Radina before the appointment. Retinol and tretinoin thin the outer layer of your skin, which means wax can grip the skin as well as the hair and cause tearing or grazing. Radina will usually recommend threading instead if you're on active retinol. If you've recently stopped, leave it at least five days before booking a wax.
Generally yes. The Hive professional wax Radina uses is gentle and the treatment is quick. Your skin can be more sensitive during pregnancy, so there might be slightly more redness than usual. Let Radina know when you book so she can adjust the temperature and technique. If your skin has become reactive, try threading instead.
Most clients get three to four weeks before regrowth becomes noticeable. It varies depending on your hair growth cycle. Some people push it to five weeks, others prefer to come back at the three-week mark to keep things tidy. The hair that does grow back tends to come in softer and finer than before, so even between appointments your brows won't look unkempt. Radina recommends waiting until there's at least two to three millimetres of regrowth before your next visit. That gives the wax enough length to grip properly.
Honestly, yes. Home wax strips give you one shot with a flat piece of wax that doesn't bend around your brow bone. Pull it off at the wrong angle and you've taken half your arch with it. That's not an exaggeration. Radina sees it regularly, clients coming in after a home attempt that went sideways, literally. In the salon, she uses professional hard wax applied in small sections, controlling exactly which hairs come out and which stay. She can see your full brow shape from a proper distance and angle, something you can't do in your bathroom mirror with one eye shut. At £18 for a tidy, it's not worth the gamble of doing it yourself.
Yes, but timing matters. Book your appointment three to five days before the event. That gives any redness time to fade while your shape is still at its sharpest. Avoid booking the day before or the morning of, just in case your skin reacts more than usual. For weddings specifically, Radina suggests a trial reshape about six weeks ahead so you can settle on the right shape, then a final tidy in the days before. Call us on 01382 217888 or book online to get your pre-event appointment in the diary.
