Your hands are dry, your cuticles are rough, and you want more than just a quick nail tidy. You want your hands to actually feel pampered and looked after, not just painted.
That's what a luxury manicure is for. It goes beyond nails. It's a full hand treatment that combines professional e-file cuticle work and nail shaping with an exfoliating scrub, nourishing butter, and a hydrating mask. Your nails come out looking immaculate and your hands come out feeling soft, smooth, and properly moisturised.
At Aesthete Beauty in Dundee, every luxury manicure is carried out by Radina Ignatova, a professional nail expert with over 11 years of experience whose work has been featured in Scratch Magazine and Who What Wear UK. Luxury Manicure starts from £40 without polish, or from £55 with OPI polish. Book online any time or call us on 01382 217888.
A luxury manicure is a standard manicure with a full hand treatment built in. It's the service to book when you want your nails done properly AND your hands to get some attention too.
It starts the same way as any manicure at Aesthete Beauty. Dry e-file cuticle preparation and professional nail shaping. No water soaking, no manual pushing with metal tools. The e-file gives a cleaner, more precise result around the cuticle area.
Where it goes further is the hand treatment. After the nail work, an exfoliating scrub is applied to remove dead skin from the hands. Then a nourishing butter goes on to hydrate deeply. Then a mask treatment for intensive moisturisation. By the time your hands come out, the skin is soft, smooth, and properly nourished.
The treatment finishes with cuticle oil for a natural look, or OPI polish in any colour if you want a colour finish.
It's the one to book when you want to treat yourself, prepare for a special occasion, or just give your hands some care after weeks of washing, cleaning, and dealing with the weather.

Precise e-file cuticle work for a clean, professional finish
Every luxury manicure at Aesthete Beauty includes:
E-file cuticle preparation. Dry e-file work to clean up the cuticle area precisely. Dead skin is removed without cutting or tearing. The cuticles look clean and neat with no soreness afterwards.
Nail shaping. Your nails get filed to whatever shape you prefer. Almond, oval, square, squoval, round, or anything else. Each nail shaped consistently.
Exfoliating hand scrub. A scrub is applied to the hands to remove dead skin cells and smooth out any rough, dry patches. This is the first step of the hand treatment and it makes a noticeable difference straight away.
Nourishing butter. A rich, hydrating butter is massaged into the hands and nails. This goes deeper than a normal hand cream and leaves the skin feeling genuinely nourished, not just surface-level moisturised.
Hydrating mask. A mask treatment is applied for intensive moisturisation. This is the step that really transforms dry, tired hands. The mask locks in moisture and leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth for days.
Cuticle oil or OPI polish. The treatment finishes with cuticle oil for a natural, groomed look, or OPI polish in your chosen colour.
A lovely environment, serene and meticulously tidy. But the best part of the experience was meeting Radina, who was so considerate and professional.
The products used during the luxury manicure aren't the same as what you'd pick up in a chemist. These are professional-grade formulations designed specifically for salon treatments.
The exfoliating scrub uses fine particles to lift dead skin without being harsh or abrasive. It works on the backs of the hands, between the fingers, and around the wrists where skin tends to dry out most.
The nourishing butter is thicker and richer than a standard hand cream. It's designed to absorb slowly and deeply rather than sitting on the surface. Your hands feel the difference for days afterwards, not just hours.
The hydrating mask is the intensive step. It goes on after the butter and creates a moisture barrier that locks everything in. It's the treatment that transforms hands that feel dry and rough into hands that feel genuinely soft and cared for.
All products used at Aesthete Beauty are professional grade. They're chosen for results, not for marketing.
Not sure which manicure to book? Here's the difference.
Express Manicure (from £25) is the quick tidy-up. Cuticle work, shaping, buffing, cuticle oil. No hand treatment, no polish. For clients who just want neat nails fast.
Luxury Manicure (from £40/£55) is the pampering option. Everything in the express plus exfoliation, butter, mask, and optional polish. For clients who want their nails AND their hands treated.
Gel Polish Manicure (from £43) is about long-lasting colour. Cuticle prep, shaping, and gel polish cured under an LED lamp for two to three weeks of chip-free colour. No hand treatment included, but you can upgrade any gel appointment with the luxury hand treatment extras.
You can also upgrade a luxury manicure with gel polish instead of regular OPI, or add Russian manicure preparation for the most precise cuticle work possible.
A regular manicure covers the nails. Cuticle work, shaping, polish. The luxury adds a full hand treatment on top of that. Exfoliating scrub, nourishing butter, hydrating mask. Your nails will look the same either way. The difference is your hands. If they're dry, rough, or you just want them feeling soft and pampered, the luxury is worth it. If you only care about neat nails, save the money and book a regular.
The luxury manicure works as a regular treatment or a one-off for specific occasions.
Before a special event. Wedding, birthday, holiday, night out. If your hands are going to be on show and you want them looking their absolute best, book a luxury manicure a day or two before. The hand treatment leaves your skin glowing and your nails immaculate.
As a regular self-care treat. A lot of clients book a luxury manicure every four to six weeks as their regular maintenance. It's an hour of proper pampering that keeps their hands and nails in great condition year round.
After a period of neglect. If your hands have been taking a beating from work, cleaning, gardening, or the Scottish winter, one luxury manicure resets everything. The exfoliation, butter, and mask combination addresses the damage and gets your hands back to feeling normal.
As a gift. Gift cards are available. A luxury manicure is one of the most popular gift choices at the salon because it's something most people wouldn't book for themselves but absolutely love when they get it.
Luxury manicures make a good gift. If you're buying for someone who wouldn't book it for themselves, a gift card for a luxury manicure is a safe bet. It's pampering without being too personal, it takes about an hour, and most people walk out saying they should have done it sooner. Gift cards are available online.
Here's exactly what happens.
The salon runs Vodex dust extraction during the e-file cuticle work at the start of your appointment, pulling fine dust from the air before it gets a chance to settle. Fresh disposable files and buffers laid out on a sterilised tray before you sit down. Metal tools cleaned and sterilised between every client, and Radina wears gloves throughout the nail work then switches to fresh ones for the hand treatment. Clients call it “a friendly, clean boutique salon” in reviews. It’s the kind of detail you notice the moment you walk in.
First-time clients get a digital consultation form by email before their appointment. It covers your nail and skin health and any sensitivities. If you’ve got a reaction to any hand cream or scrub ingredients, this is where you flag it so Radina can adjust the products used.

Every tool sterilised between clients
Your nails get filed to your preferred shape. Radina will check what you want and shape each nail consistently.
Dry e-file work to clean up the cuticle area. Precise, controlled, no water soaking.
