Pedicure in Dundee

Your feet have been hidden in shoes for months. The skin is rough, the toenails need cutting, and you wouldn't let anyone see them right now. They need proper attention, not just a quick polish over the top.

A pedicure sorts all of that. Professional toenail shaping, cuticle work, dead skin removal, and moisturising treatment. Your feet come out looking and feeling completely different to how they went in.

At Aesthete Beauty in Dundee, there are two levels of pedicure: Express for a quick toenail tidy, and Deluxe for a full foot treatment with soak, exfoliation, massage, and OPI polish. Every pedicure is carried out by Radina Ignatova, a professional nail expert with over 11 years of experience whose work has been featured in Scratch Magazine and Who What Wear UK. Express Pedicure starts from £20. Book online any time or call us on 01382 217888.

The Treatment

What is a Pedicure?

A pedicure is a professional foot and toenail care treatment. It covers everything your feet need to look clean, feel soft, and stay healthy.

The express pedicure focuses on the toenails. Shaping, cuticle work, buffing, and a cuticle oil finish. It's the quick tidy-up for toenails that just need sorting.

The deluxe pedicure goes much further. It's a full foot treatment that starts with a soak to soften the skin, followed by dead skin removal, toenail shaping, cuticle work, exfoliation, a foot and leg massage, nourishing butter, a hydrating mask, and finished with OPI polish in your chosen colour. It's the full works.

Both are different from a gel pedicure, which adds gel polish cured under an LED lamp for weeks of chip-free colour on your toes. If you want gel on your toes, that's a separate service.

A regular pedicure keeps your feet in good condition between gel sets, gets them ready for summer, or just makes sure they're presentable and comfortable all year round.

Your Options

Types of Pedicure Available

There are two pedicure options at Aesthete Beauty.

Express Pedicure (from £20). The quick toenail tidy. Cuticle work, toenail shaping, buffing, and cuticle oil finish. No soak, no foot treatment, no polish. For clients who just want their toenails neat. Quick appointment.

Pedicure with OPI Polish (from £35). The full deluxe foot treatment. This includes a soak to soften the skin, dead skin removal from the feet, toenail shaping, cuticle care, exfoliating foot scrub, foot and leg massage, nourishing butter, hydrating mask, and finished with OPI polish in your chosen colour.

Your feet come out soft, smooth, and your toenails look immaculate. It's a proper pampering treatment, not just a toenail tidy.

Either pedicure can be upgraded with gel polish for longer-lasting colour on your toes.

Radina was friendly and professional; I felt very at ease. I had a deluxe pedicure and more than a week later my feet still feel amazing. Radina is definitely my go to person for pedicures now.

The Benefits

Benefits of a Professional Pedicure

Healthy toenails. Toenails get properly shaped and cuticles get cleaned up. Professional care prevents ingrown toenails, keeps the nail bed healthy, and catches any issues early before they become problems.

Smooth feet. Dead skin and calluses get removed. Rough heels and dry patches get sorted. The deluxe pedicure leaves your feet genuinely smooth, not just temporarily moisturised.

Hydrated skin. The nourishing butter and hydrating mask in the deluxe treatment go deeper than a regular foot cream. If your feet are cracked, dry, or neglected, one treatment makes a noticeable difference.

Relaxation. The foot and leg massage in the deluxe pedicure isn't just nice. It improves circulation, reduces tension, and gives your feet a proper break. If you're on your feet all day for work, this is the treatment that actually helps.

Year-round confidence. It's not just about sandal season. Well-maintained feet feel better in any shoes. Gym, swimming, yoga, or just knowing your feet are sorted even when nobody can see them.

Prevention. Regular pedicures keep toenails, skin, and cuticles in good condition so problems don't build up. It's easier to maintain healthy feet than fix neglected ones.

Long Term

Why Regular Pedicures Make a Difference

One pedicure makes your feet look and feel great. Regular pedicures keep them that way permanently.

The dead skin on your feet builds up gradually. You don't notice it day to day because it happens slowly. Then one day you look down and your heels are cracked and rough. A single deluxe pedicure removes the build-up and resets everything. But if you leave it months before the next one, you're back to square one.

Most clients who book regular pedicures find that each appointment gets easier and quicker because there's less build-up to deal with. The feet stay in good baseline condition and the pedicure becomes maintenance rather than rescue work.

How often depends on your feet. Every four to six weeks is a good starting point for most people. If you're on your feet all day for work, every three to four weeks keeps things in better shape. Radina will recommend a schedule based on what she sees at your first appointment.

Aftercare

Looking After Your Feet Between Appointments

A pedicure gets your feet into good condition. Keeping them that way between appointments takes a bit of daily care.

Moisturise your feet every day. A good foot cream before bed does more than you'd think. The skin on your feet is thicker than anywhere else on your body and it dries out faster, especially in winter when the heating is on or in summer when you're in sandals.

If you've had the deluxe treatment and your feet feel soft and smooth, daily moisturising extends that feeling for weeks. Without it, the dry skin starts building up again within days.

Cuticle oil on your toenails helps too. Same as on your fingernails, it keeps the cuticle area healthy and prevents dryness and cracking.

Avoid walking barefoot on rough surfaces. Wear socks or slippers at home if your floors are hard. This sounds minor but it's one of the main reasons calluses build up on the balls of your feet and heels.

If you notice any changes in your toenails between appointments, like discolouration, thickening, or anything unusual, mention it to Radina at your next visit. Catching issues early is always easier than dealing with them later.

Your Appointment

What to Expect at Your Pedicure Appointment

Here's what happens for each level.

Vodex dust extraction runs during all e-file work on your nails. Even during pedicure prep, the extraction system pulls dust from the air at the source so there's no visible cloud and no chemical smell in the room. Fresh disposable files and buffers for every client. Metal tools cleaned and sterilised between appointments. Radina wears gloves throughout. “A friendly, clean boutique salon” and “a very clean place” come up again and again in client reviews. The tray you see when you sit down has your tools laid out individually, ready before you arrive.

If it's your first visit, you'll get a digital consultation form by email before the appointment. It covers your nail and skin health and any concerns. Returning clients don't need to fill it in again unless something has changed.

Is It For You?

Is a Pedicure Right for You?

If any of these sound familiar, a pedicure is what you need:

  • Your feet have been neglected and need proper attention
  • You've got rough skin, calluses, or dry cracked heels
  • Your toenails need shaping and your cuticles need tidying
  • You want your feet looking good for a holiday or summer
  • You're on your feet all day and want a treatment that actually helps
  • You want a relaxing foot treatment as a treat (deluxe)

If you want colour on your toes that lasts weeks without chipping, book a gel polish pedicure instead. The regular pedicure uses OPI polish which looks great but won't last as long as gel.

Gem of a salon in the city centre with really good options of treatments to choose from. My nails are looking really nice after my spa manicure and pedicure. Skin nourished. Very skilled and professional service in a nice environment, looking forward to returning.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Pedicure in Dundee

Q

What's included in a pedicure?

The express pedicure includes toenail shaping, cuticle work, buffing, and cuticle oil. The deluxe pedicure adds a soak, dead skin removal, exfoliation, foot and leg massage, nourishing butter, hydrating mask, and OPI polish.

Q

How much does a pedicure cost in Dundee?

Express Pedicure from £20. Pedicure with OPI Polish from £35. Gel Toes from £40. All pricing is in the online booking system.

Q

What's the difference between express and deluxe pedicure?

Express is toenails only: shaping, cuticle work, buffing. Deluxe is a full foot treatment with soak, dead skin removal, massage, butter, mask, and polish. Express is the quick tidy. Deluxe is the full pampering experience.

Q

How long does a pedicure take?

Express is quick, around 20 minutes. Deluxe takes longer because of the foot treatment stages. Radina will give you a time estimate when you book.

Q

Can I add gel polish to a pedicure?

Yes. Gel polish can be added as an upgrade, or book a Gel Polish Pedicure from £40 as a standalone service for longer-lasting colour.

Q

What's the difference between a pedicure and a gel pedicure?

A regular pedicure uses standard OPI polish that air dries. A gel pedicure uses gel polish cured under an LED lamp that lasts four to six weeks on toes without chipping.

Q

Do I need to bring flip flops?

Not for gel pedicure (gel is cured and dry immediately). For regular OPI polish, the polish air dries during the appointment but bringing open-toe shoes is a good idea if you want to be safe.

Q

My feet are really rough. Will one pedicure fix that?

The deluxe pedicure makes a significant difference in one session. Dead skin removal, exfoliation, and the hydrating treatments all help. For severely neglected feet, regular pedicures every few weeks will progressively improve the condition.

Q

What are the hygiene standards for pedicures?

Every appointment uses fresh disposable files and buffers, metal tools cleaned and sterilised between clients, and Radina wears gloves throughout. The salon runs Vodex dust extraction for any e-file work. Same hygiene standards for feet as for hands.

Q

Is a pedicure safe during pregnancy?

Generally, yes. A pedicure with regular OPI polish involves no harmful chemicals. If you have concerns about circulation, swelling, or any pregnancy-related conditions, check with your midwife first. The digital consultation form covers health conditions so anything relevant gets flagged before the appointment.

Q

How often should I get a pedicure?

Every four to six weeks keeps your feet in good condition. In summer some clients come every three weeks because their feet are on show. Winter? You can stretch it longer. Toenails grow slower in colder months and your feet are hidden in shoes anyway. Just don't leave it so long that the dead skin builds up from scratch again.
